Most treadmills have pre-set speed estimation programmed at factory. These can vary dramatically from true speed, (and on some machines we have checked the values are wildly different). Some are even advertised as ‘perceived’ or pseudo’ speed. The GTC range of treadmills are set as accurately as possible at factory to reflect the true speed as experienced by the runner. Recently we have been asked about the ability to calibrate treadmills. This tends to be for fitness tests, (i.e.police,fire,military) or top level athletes. We are happy to announce that we can now offer speed calibration on the GTC commercial machines. This can be done on an annual basis to maintain conformity for fitness tests.
