All colour shades can be mixed with each other to create any number of alternative coloursNumber of recommended coats: 2Coverage: Up to 26m2 per litreDrying time: 12 hoursSizes available: 750ml, 2.5LNatural Oil Woodstain (701) Clear offers no UV protection and is therefore not recommended for wooden surfaces exposed to strong sunlight.PreparationEnsure surfaces to be treated with Osmo Woodstain are clean, dry and frost-free prior to application (moisture content max. 20°C).Existing oil finishes should be lightly sanded and cleaned before applicationExisting coatings such as paint and varnish must be fully removed by sanding or stripping back to bare woodRemove sanding dust thoroughly from the surface with a brush or vacuum cleaner before applicationUse white spirit to degrease and remove surface contaminates if requiredAny traces of green growth or mould should be treated and removed with Osmo Guard CleanFill any holes or gaps with a suitable wood fillerRevive any greyed or sun damaged wood with Osmo Wood Reviver GelAny end grain can be sealed with Osmo End Grain Sealing WaxIf additional protection against blue stain, rot and insects is desired, pre-treat the wood, if possible on all sides, with Osmo WR Base CoatApplicationAlways do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times. Stir thoroughly before and periodically during application.Apply Osmo wood stain thinly and evenly along the wood grain with an Soft Top Brush or Premium Microfibre Roller and spread wellWork the oil into the surface grain of the woodIf possible, apply the first coat to all sides of the wood before installation to offer the best all-round protectionWipe off any excess oil from the surface of the wood with a clean, lint-free clothAllow the first coat to dry for 4-6 hoursApply a second coat using the same method as the firstPlease Note: Rough sawn timber is more absorbent, meaning coverage per litre will be greatly reduced. FinishingThe dried surface is initially satin-gloss at first and is afterwards satin. The transparent colour tone of the finish will be influenced by the wood's natural colour, causing the result to deviate from the colour shown on the colour chart. Lightly pigmented (coloured) transparent finishes have little protection against UV influences and are therefore not recommended for surfaces prone to strong sunlight. To increase the durability of the finish, we recommend applying a top coat of Osmo UV Protection Oil Extra (420)For the white Osmo Natural Oil Woodstain finish (product code 900), use Osmo UV Protection Oil Extra (429) as a top coat as this will retain the white finish. Using the standard clear UV protection oil (420) on top of the white 900 may result in a creamy or 'off-white' finishAftercareRegular Cleaning: For the regular cleaning of exterior wooden surfaces, use Osmo Exterior Spray Cleaner (8027)MaintenanceIf surfaces show signs of wear or a loss of weather resistance over time, simply clean and add a maintenance coat of Osmo Natural Oil Woodstain to the existing finish. For further information please download the following datasheets:Natural Oil Woodstain - PI Natural Oil Woodstain - SafetyAdditional informationWeightN/ASize2.5 Litres, 750mlColourBasalt Grey, Clear Matt, Ebony, Larch, Oak, Patina, Pearl Grey, Pine, White, Fir Green
